TS, AP announces cash rewards for Sindhu

Hyderabad: It’s raining awards and gifts for the Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu.

The Andhra Pradesh Government has announced a cash reward of Rs 3 crore for Sindhu besides providing a Group-I rank job and a 1000-sq feet residential plot. The Cabinet which met in Vijayawada also decided to give a cash reward of Rs 50 lakh to Sindhu’s coach P. Gopichand.

The State Government also announced Rs 50 lakh cash reward for wrestler Sakshi Malik who won bronze medal at Rio Olympics.

Earlier, the Delhi’s AAP government has also decided to give a cash reward of Rs 2 crore to Ms Sindhu and Rs 1 crore for Sakshi Malik as part of its sports policy to promote sports in the country.

Meanwhile, the Telangana State on Saturday decided to give a cash reward of Rs 5 crore to Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu. The State Cabinet which met here on Saturday evening also decided to give a cash reward of Rs 1 crore to Sindhu’s coach P Gopichand and Rs 1 crore to wrestler Sakshi Malik for her Bronze medal.
