TS Assembly session from Aug 30 to ratify GST Bill

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to convene the session of Telangana State Legislative Assembly from August 30 to ratify the Goods and Services Tax Bill.

The decision was taken during a review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s camp office on Friday.

The meeting, chaired by KCR, was attended by Legislative Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao, Legislature Secretary S. Raja Sadaram, Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy, Law Department Secretary Santosh Reddy and other senior officials.

The Chief Minister said that the Parliament has approved the GST Bill in recently held session and it needs to be ratified by more than 50% of State Assemblies in the country.

Therefore, he urged Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary and Council Chairman Swamy Goud to convene the session from August 30.

KCR also requested the Speaker to permit Advocate General to attend the Assembly as a Special Invitee to explain various aspects of GST Bill to the members. (INN)
