Mahbubnagar: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday inaugurated the second and third lift irrigation projects of Kalwakurthy project at Jonnalaboguda which the state government says will provide irrigation to one lakh acres of land.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the inauguration of the lift irrigation was a great achievement for the farmers of the region.
“This will irrigate one lakh acres in Kalwakurty, Achampet, and Kolhapur mandals besides irrigating 2.5 lakh acres in next three months.
In his speech, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that the TRS Government was committed to the welfare of the farmers and was taking all efforts in this direction.
He lauded minister Harish Rao saying that he took the initiative for the district farmers.
Jupally lamented that the earlier government ignored the district farmers leaving them hopeless. TRS is a pro-farmers and a pro-poor government, he added. (INN)
