Congress stages dharna at GHMC office

Hyderabad: Congress leaders and activists staged a dharna in front of the GHMC head office here on Tuesday against the bad condition of city roads.

Speaking to media persons, Congress leaders Kuna Srisailam Goud, Sudhir Reddy and others lashed out at the TRS Government and the GHMC accusing them of neglecting the development of the state capital.

They alleged that the city roads are in the worst-ever condition. Never before the city roads were as bad as they are now. Not a single road in the city is in proper condition, the Congress leaders lamented.

They said that the TRS promised to change the scenario of the city immediately after coming to the power. Even though the TRS won the GHMC elections, the party failed to keep its promise of providing better civic amenities in the city.

They lamented that a brief spell of rainfall is choking the city road and nalas. A person died in an open drain in Nagole but the GHMC is least bothered about the grave situation the city is in, the Congress leaders lamented. They warned of intensifying the protest if the GHMC does not start repairing the city roads at the earliest. (INN)
