Contractors alone happy under KCR rule: Ponguleti

Hyderabad: Deputy CLP leader Ponguleti Sudharkar Reddy said that there was no change in the style of governance of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in the Telangana State.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, the Congress leader said that the TRS rode to the power in the state by promising numerous welfare schemes to people of the state but the party failed to keep its promise.

Only contractors are happy with the KCR rule. The common man has not received any sorts of benefit from the TRS rule. In 27 months of being in the power, the TRS created a burden on the state to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore, he said.

The Congress MLC took potshots at the Chief Minister saying that if KCR claims the credit of achieving statehood for Telangana then he should also show the same zeal in getting funds from the Centre for the state.

Why is the TRS government failing to prevail up on the Centre on the needs of the state? he questioned.

Accusing the Chief Minister of instigating regional passions to derive political mileage, Ponguleti questioned as to why KCR did not speak out when parts of Khammam district were facing submergence threat.

KCR derives political mileage by invoking regional sentiments. He has mortgaged the interests of the state, the Congress MLC said. (INN)
