Science City planned in RR District

Hyderabad: Minister for Forests and Environment Jogu Ramanna said that the State Government has decided to construct a state of the art Science City in Ranga Reddy district.

The minister was speaking at a programme on Thursday to launch the TS Council of Science and Technology logo and website.

Ramanna said that the Science City would be constructed with the central assistance. Of the Rs 160 crore total cost for the Science City to come up on a 80 acre campus, the Centre will provide Rs 66 crore,

HMDA will bear Rs 40 crore and the rest will be in public private partnership (PPP) mode the minister said. The proposal for the project has been forwarded to the Centre.

The State Government proposes to encourage research on confirming diseases to castor oil trees in Mahbubnagar, fluoride content reduction in water in Nalgonda, to procure pulses and cultivation of apple and mulbery in Agency areas.

The project will involve in various programs like science city, 5-D theatres, science centers among others. (INN)
