Railway Board member briefs SCR officials on ‘Rail Vikas Shivir’

Hyderabad: Hemant Kumar, Member, Rolling Stock, Railway Board, New Delhi made a visit to South Central Railway and participated in a host of meetings held at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Saturday. SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta was present along with him during the day long schedule.

Addressing the Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers at Rail Nilayam, Hemant Kumar highlighted that the ambitious “Rail Vikas Shivir” an idea generating exercise to take Indian Railways forward,

which is currently on, is one of the most extensive brain storming initiative ever to be undertaken by any Organisation.

Focusing on the fact that Prime Minister Naendra Modi will be involving in analysing the ideas that are selected at the National level, the Railway Board Member expressed confidence that good and positive results will be forth coming, both in terms of short term and long term.

He also encouraged the Officials to take on challenges and bottle necks in the working system and prevail over them for performance betterment.

Earlier, the Member, Rolling Stock, Railway Board attended and addressed the Junior Rail Vikas Shivir, a precursor to the main event slated at National level.

As a mentor for the Zone, Hemant Kumar expressed appreciation on the ideas that have been presented in the Shivir.

He put forth to the audience, the view point of the Prime Minister that Railway personnel themselves are capable of transformation of Indian Railways.

Ravindra Gupta expressed happiness at the various interesting and innovative ideas that have been presented on how to “Create 3X bigger Indian Railways that is economically viable”.

The short listing of ideas for further taking forward is itself a very challenging task and hence Railway staff and Officials are involved in marking and grading the same, he added.

He was appreciative of the lead role that the Member, Rolling Stock, Railway Board played in shaping this endeavour on the Zone.
