Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Jupally Krishna Rao on Thursday said that the state government was planning to upgrade Girijana Tandas to Panchayat and a comprehensive report in this regard is being prepared.
Speaking at a meeting to review the implementation of welfare schemes in rural areas, the minister said that the state government was making strenuous efforts to provide better infrastructure in rural areas.
He said that the state was to get Rs 900 crore from the Centre under the rural development schemes under the 14th Finance Commission and directed the officials to ensure the same is released at the earliest for early implementation of various schemes in rural areas. (INN)
