TPCC leaders meet BC Commission over Muslim quota

Hyderabad: On the 5th day of Public Hearing Programme on enhancement of reservations for Backward Classes among Muslims conducted by the Telangana State Commission for Backward Classes, the Congress leaders announced their support to the proposed 12% Muslim quota.

Placing their views before BC Commission Chairman B.S. Ramulu and other members, TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Commission should come up with a comprehensive report which could withstand legal scrutiny in a court of law.

Leaders of Opposition K. Jana Reddy (Assembly) and Mohammed Ali Shabbir (Council), MLAs T. Jeevan Reddy and D.K. Aruna, ex-MP M. Anjan Kumar Yadav and other senior leaders part of the Congress delegation.

Meanwhile, representatives of several other organisations and individuals also appeared before the BC Commission to submit their petitions on enhancement of Muslim reservation in the State.

The Public Hearing will continue on Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (INN)
