Telangana CS stresses on fast completion of Metro Rail project

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary K. Pradeep Chandra conducted the Special Task Force (STF) meeting on the progress of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project on Tuesday.

He told the senior officials, who were present in the meeting, that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was very keen that the project is completed fast and that all government departments should give full support for execution of this prestigious project in a fast track mode.

HMRL Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy made a detailed presentation on the progress of the works and informed the Chief Secretary that 61 km of foundations,

58 km of pillars and 49 km of viaduct have been completed and that the project execution has again picked up good speed since its review by the Chief Minister at November end.

NVS Reddy also informed that several long pending and critical properties like Transstroy building on Road No.5, Jubilee Hills, Padmahamsa apartments near ISKCON temple in Secunderabad, the top floor of Begumpet Post Office, Rahmat complex at Ameerpet junction, etc,

have since been demolished. With South Central Railway recently giving permissions for construction of RoBs at the remaining 7 locations, Chilkalguda RoB work has since been completed and RoB works at Alugaddabavi, Begumpet, Oliphenta, Lakdikapul and Malakpet have started, he explained.

During the meeting the Chief Secretary directed the Hyderabad Collector to expedite acquisition of the affected properties in Sultan Bazar, Badichowdi and Putlibowli areas for which consents have been received from the property owners.

He instructed the GHMC Commissioner and the Land Acquisition Officer to expedite the acquisition of the remaining few affected properties in Yousufguda and Jubilee Hills.

He also advised Minorities Welfare Department Secretary to immediately handover the affected Wakf properties at Musheerabad junction and RTC X Roads for which payments have already been made by HMRL.

GHMC Commissioner Dr. B.Janardhan Reddy, Minorities Welfare Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel, IG, Stamps & Registration Ahmed Nadeem, Joint Collector, Hyderabad M. Prashanti, HMRL Chief Engineer Md. Ziauddin and other senior officers of HMRL, GHMC and other government departments were present in the meeting. (INN)
