Harish Rao assures farmers of justice

Hyderabad: Minister for Irrigation Harish Rao on Wednesday informed the Assembly that the TRS Government was committed to the welfare of the farmers and was offering highest compensation to them for acquiring their lands for various projects.

Introducing the Telangana Land Acquisition Bill the he said that land was a state subject and the state government was enacting a legislation to carry forward various projects that would be helpful to the farmers.

He accused the Opposition of instigating farmers and was spreading misinformation campaign against the government by accusing it of forcibly taking away farm lands.

Harish Rao said that the state government was giving compensation as per the provisions of Land Acquisition Act 2013and assured that the farmers and land owners would not lose anything.

The minister said that the government was not acquiring land for private use and added that it is being used for larger interests of the state. (INN)
