JP hits at Centre on note ban, suggests measures to improve governance

Hyderabad: Lok Satta Party chief Dr. Jaya Prakash Narayan, who supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various policies came down heavily on the Centre’s demonetisaton policy saying that it shows the erratic functioning of the government.

The LSP chief who has been critical of the note ban and its poor implementation said that the Centre’s move has exposed the poor accountability of the Modi Government.

Jaya Prakash demanded that Centre to initiate steps to lessen the people’s suffering due to poor implementation of demonetization move. The former MLA suggested five measures to the Centre to improve accountability in the functioning of the government.

The LSP chief urged the government to improve citizen services by bringing in the Service Guaranty Act be provided timely services to the citizen.

He said that the crime control wing should detached from law and be accorded autonomy and added that the cases be dealt locally by improving infrastructure at districts.

He urged the government to improve the standards education and health services and ensure that they reach the masses. He also urged the government to provide one-third of funds directly to local bodies to meet local needs.

The former MLA also suggested the Centre to bring in election reforms to prevent criminalization of politics. (INN)
