100% cashless transactions not possible: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that it was not possible to implement 100% cashless transactions in the society. However, he said this could be implemented to a great extent by creating awareness among people.

Addressing an awareness campaign in Siddipet on Sunday, the minister said common people were disappointed with the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on New Year’s eve. He said formation of cashless society would take a lot of time.

The minister claimed that nearly 70% of transactions in Siddipet have gone digital. He said that the State Government has resolved to make Siddipet as a model constituency for cashless transactions.

The minister also distributed 50 mini-ATM machines among Self Help Groups (SHG) women. (INN)
