Pvt universities will attract investments: Dy CM

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiam Srihari on Friday said that establishment of private universities in the state would attract more investments in the state.

Replying to questions on private varsities and recruitment of teachers in the Legislative Assembly, Kadiyam Srihari said that the State Government’s decision of opening up to private varsities was in the interests of local students. He said that as many as 24 states have private varsities serving the needs of those state.

He said that the private varsities would fetch investments and would provide employment opportunities. He, however, said that the state government may not table the private varsities bill in this session.

The Deputy CM said that the government would soon take up the recruitment of teachers for state schools very soon. He said that the recruitment was delayed due to reorganization of districts.

He said that school assistants and secondary grade teachers (SGTs) are district level teaching cadres. He also said that the government needs to rationalize the teaching posts in the wake of reorganization of districts and other aspects. (INN)
