Inter education strengthened in Telangana: Dy CM

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari said that the State Government was strengthening Intermediate education in the state and was accordingly taking various initiatives in the last two years.

Speaking to media persons, Srihari said that 79 junior colleges were sanctioned in the state during 2004-2014. But 68 of those colleges did not had their own building.

He said that after the TRS Government came to power, 56 colleges got their own buildings. He also said that the government was strengthening infrastructure at these colleges and was providing free books to the students.

The minister said that the state government has made enrolments in the colleges online and was aiming at 2 lakh admissions.

The Deputy CM said that the state government was committed to regularize the services of contract lecturers and added that they were protesting at the behest of opposition parties.

He warned the striking lecturers to resume duties before January 12 and warned of severe action if they failed to do so. (INN)
