Hyderabad: Rich tributes were paid to former Chief Minister Dr Marri Chenna Reddy on is 98th birth anniversary on Friday.
Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya, Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, MLAs D.K. Aruna, Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, Vamshichand Reddy, Chintala Ramchander Reddy and other leaders from across all parties offerred floral tributes at the samadhi of late Dr Channa Reddy at Rock Garden, Indira Park here.
Chenna Reddy’s son and ex-Vice Chairman of NDMA Marri Shashidhar Reddy held an all religious prayers at the Samadhi sthal on the occasion.
Speaking to media persons, the Home Minister recalled the contribution of Chenna Reddy in Telangana movement. He said it was Chenna Reddy who first raised voice against injustices done to Telangana region and launched a massive movement for statehood.
Having served people as a successful medical practitioner, Chenna Reddy joined politics and also became the Chief Minister.
He said Chenna Reddy would be remembered forever for his exemplary services to Telangana and its people. (INN)
