CM pats TSPSC for appointment of Agriculture Extension Officers

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed happiness over the appointment of Agriculture Extension Officers, which was done in a smooth way by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).

The TSPSC after winning a case in the Court has issued orders for 1258 Agriculture Extension Officers.

TSPSC Chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani met the Chief Minister here on Tuesday in the Legislative Assembly premises and informed him about the developments and activities of the Commission.

The Chief Minister congratulated the TSPSC and its Chairman for successfully conducting the examinations for various government services with transparency and without any problem.

The TSPSC has become role model for other States. The TSPSC, which is a hope for the unemployed, will have more work burden in the times to come, the CM said.

The state government has embarked upon appointing 1311 Agriculture Extension Officers to strengthen the farm sector. However, some candidates who are working on Contract basis have approached the High Court raising some objections.

The High Court while dismissing their plea stated that the Contract employees should also get the equal marks as other selected candidates to get the job.

It also made it clear the service of the Contract Employees need not be taken into account. This led to the appointment of the Agriculture Extension Officers by the TSPSC. (INN)
