Minorities Panel chairman asks CM to hire Nariman for Lanco-Wakf case hearing

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Minorities Commission chairman Abid Rasool Khan on Monday evening made an urgent representation to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao asking him to hire senior counsel Fali Nariman to represent the Manikonda Jagir – Lanco Wakf case in Supreme Court.

“The hearing in the Supreme Court relating to the above property is scheduled on Tuesday. Senior Advocate Fali Nariman was presenting the case on behalf of the Wakf Board along with other advocates.

It is reliably learned that Fali Nariman has not been engaged for tomorrow’s hearing on the pretext that he has enhanced his fees, In this regard enquiries reveal that Nariman has not enhanced his fees and he is charging the same as was done earlier,” he said in his representation.

Abid Rasool Khan feared that not engaging Fali Nariman would weaken the case and might lead to adverse orders. “I also believe that interested are using their influence to keep away Nariman.

I therefore request and appeal you to intervene into the matter and advise the Wakf Board to continue Fali Nariman as the case is at final stage in the Supreme Court,” he said. (INN)
