TPCC Chief demands action against cops for lock-up death

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded stern action against the police personnel responsible for the alleged lock-up death of Bheem Singh, a resident of Rasoolpura, in the Mangalhat Police Station.

Accompanied with TPCC Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi, General Secretary Prem Lal, Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav and other leaders, Uttam Kumar Reddy visited the Osmania General Hospital mortuary on Sunday where the body of Bheem Singh was taken for post-mortem.

Uttam interacted with the family members of Bheem Singh and assured that the Congress party would get justice for Bheem Singh, 42, who belonged to Backward Classes.

Speaking to media persons, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the State Government has completely lost control over police administration and many officials and staff were acting as per their will in open violation of human rights.

Stating that Bheem Singh was a daily wage earner and his death has brought immense pain to the family, he demanded that the State Government pay adequate compensation to the victim’s family besides giving a government job to one family member.

He said that the family should also be a given a double bed room under weaker section housing scheme. (INN)
