TS Govt to set up 100 mobile veterinary clinics

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has informed that the State Government would introduce 100 Mobile Veterinary Clinics across the Telangana State.

In his reply to a question raised by MLAs Eanugu Ravinder Reddy and others during Question Hour, the minister said that the procurement of vehicles for Mobile Veterinary Clinics was under process and an amount of Rs. 28.45 crore has been allocated in 2017-18 budget for this purpose.

The minister also informed that as many as 2,117 Government veterinary Clinics were working across 31 districts of Telangana State. He said that the government was providing budget for drugs, medicines and equipment for functioning of veterinary institutions.

He said that the State Government has sanctioned 635 projects for construction of buildings and providing infrastructure to veterinary institutions under RIDF XVIII and XIX. As against the project cost of Rs. 145.80 crore, up to February this year, Rs. 30.64 has been spent and remaining Rs. 115.16 crore was payable during 2017-18.

A budget of Rs. 62 lakh for 2016-17 and Rs. 52 lakh for 2017-18 under Non-Plan was provided for maintenance of buildings.

Talasani informed that for Drugs, Medicines and equipment, an amount of Rs. 21.30 crore were released during 2016-17 and Rs. 27 crore were proposed for the year 2017-18. (INN)
