BJP to launch statewide against Muslim quota

Hyderabad: BJP floor leader in Assembly G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday announced that his party would launch agitation across the State against the proposed reservation for Muslims in Telangana.

Addressing a press conference here, Kishan Reddy said agitation programmes would be held in all Assembly constituencies on April 17 against the proposed Muslim quota.

He accused the TRS Government of violating the Constitution by providing quota based on religion. He said that the TRS Government was planning to introduce the reservation bill without giving time to MLAs to study the BC Commission report or the Bill.

Kishan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to create a divide within the Muslim community by classifying them in various castes.

He said there was no caste system among Muslims and by creating fake castes, KCR has been trying to cheat the community. He said that the Reservation Bill would not withstand the legal scrutiny in a court of law.

He said the case of 4% Muslim reservation was already going on before the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court.

He said that the BJP would fight against the Muslim reservation both inside and outside the Assembly. (INN)
