Publicity poster of Telugu movie Naanaku Prematho depicts Allah, Mohammad and Quranic verse in backdrop with heroine’s obscene posture.
According to a complaint registered by Asif Nagar resident Khaja Tanveer Ahmed with State Minorities Commission, the movie posters featuring actor Junior NTR and actress Rakul Preet Singh portrayed “heroine for obscene posture with backdrop of in the name of Allah (SWT), Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) so also Quranic verses.”
The complainant said director Devi Sri Prasad and producer BVNS Prasad have “intentionally hurt the feelings of Muslim Community” and “attempted to insult the Prophet Mohammed and Quran”.
Mr. Ahmed also urged the Commission to file criminal cases against the movie director, producer and actor, as per law of the land.
While registering a complaint, the Commission sought reply from Hyderabad Police Commissioner and Officer-in-charge of Regional Censor Board within seven days as to why a criminal case should not filed against director, producer, and actor.
Meanwhile, the Commission recommended removal and withdrawal of posters immediately so as not to hurt sentiments of the Muslim Community further.
