TS Govt improving facilities in public hospitals: Lakshma Reddy

Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy said that the State Government was improving facilities in all public hospitals across Telangana State.

He was speaking to media persons after inaugurating Labour Room, Emergency Medical Unit equipped with high-end equipment and Obstetric Intensive Care Unit at Maternity Hospital in Petla Burj. He said that the State Government was setting up an Intensive Care Unit in all the government hospitals.

He said that the services have improved in almost all the hospitals. However, he said that the media was exaggerating the isolated cases of negligence to terrorise the people.

The minister said that it was due to the wrong reporting by some media groups that the poor patients were inclined to approach private hospitals instead of visiting government hospitals for treatment.

He also condemned the politics over death of five pregnant women in Niloufer Hospital.

Later, the minister visited Osmania General Hospital where he inaugurated Digital X-Ray Ultra Sound machine and four new pharmacy counters. (INN)
