Telangana Police receive FICCI Smart Policing Award

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Saturday congratulated the efforts of Police Officers and personnel for selection of two Awards and three Special Jury Awards out of 133 entries from various State Police Forces and CAPF for the FICCI SMART Policing Awards 2017.

Anurag Sharma said that the Telangana Police has received FICCI SMART Policing Award 2017 for Smart Passport Verification Process and Cyber Forensic Lab in the category of other Policing Initiative and Cyber Crime.

The Telangana DGP is invited as a distinguished panelist for the session with CAPFS (Central Armed Police Forces) and State Police Forces scheduled during the two day conference on Home Land Security.

He said that the Awards will be presented as part of the Annual Conference on Home Land Security to be held on May 24th -25th at FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers Of Commerce and India), New Delhi.

The Award for Policing initiative in the category of smart passport verification process will be received by the DGP. KCS Raghu Vir, Assistant CP, Hyderabad city will receive award for cyber Forensics Lab initiative in the category of Cyber crime.

The Special Jury Award- SMART Police Officer award is announced to M. Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and for pioneering work of Telangana Police, the jury has decided to confer Special Jury Award for SMART Innovative Policing.

Another Special Jury Award was announced to FINS –Finger Print Identification and Network System for J. Parimala Hana Nutan, SP, Suryapet District. Further the entries sent to the organization will be featured in a Compendium of Best Practices which will be shared with relevant Ministries/ Departments in the central and State Governments. (INN)
