CM hails India getting elected as president of UN-Habitat

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has hailed India getting unanimously elected as the president of the UN-Habitat, an organ of the United Nations promoting sustainable human settlements across the globe.

The Chief Minister hoped that Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, who will preside over the deliberations of the 58-member Governing Council (GC) of the UN-Habitat for the next two years, would further enhance the country’s prestige.

He hoped that under Venkaiah Naidu’s leadership attempts would be made to make everyone in the world to get a decent habitat. (INN)
