Govt of India, New Delhi

Dear Minister,

Sub: The Two -member fact finding team constituted by HRD Ministry has OSD Dr Shakila T Shamsu and Shri Surat Singh.

The grievance of students is against the present system chiefly involving your cabinet colleague, Shri Bandaru Dattatreya and the VC Dr Appa Rao under your ministry.

Principles of natural justice entails involvement of independent people of unblemished record to probe into a twice-probed issue of suspension/boycott of 5 research scholars of UOH.

India is not in dearth of well-known principled people. We urge you to recall this Committee and constitute citizens of high repute for their clean record or constitute a thorough judicial probe.

Kindly do this as an urgent as we do not want any of the students to suffer in their academics, career and their life. Students of UOH were already suffering for want of water over the past months. Management had pushed their semester ahead much to the detriment of students. This shows the callous and unplanned manner of managing central university of Hyderabad where around 5000 students are on the campus.

We assure you of our coordination in ensuring ‘swachch’ in every sphere and dimension of our country.
We are deeply hurt and hang our heads in shame that we could not convince our young scholar Rohit Vemula that there are solutions to situations. We have lost a wonderful citizen of India, a future scientist, writer, poet, etc.

Best,

Shri Jeevan Kumar, President, Human Rights Forum – Telangana & Andhra Pradesh
Dr K Babu Rao, President, Human Rights Forum – Hyderabad Dist
Dr Lubna Sarwath, Participant – Hum-Hyderabad: a movement
