Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Friday described the Rs.15,000 crore Miyapur land scam as mother of all scams during the three years rule of KCR regime and said that a free and fair probe by the CBI could help set right the already unpopular and corrupt government of the new born Telangana state.
Charging that the TRS government was neck deep in scandals, Shabbir Ali said that the CID and ACB have failed to catch the corrupt culprits and they were let go scot free.
There have been various scams that rocked the TRS government like the Note for Vote, EAMCET paper leakage, Alair police encounter, Gangster Nayeem case, etc., But Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is ignoring them and lukewarm probes by ACB and CID had not brought the corrupt to justice.
KCR should follow in footsteps of former CM YS Rajashekhara Reddy who initiated CBI on complaints of corruption in CM peshi itself. “Let the truth come out with a CBI probe on Miyapur land scam and KCR should at least order a CBI probe on his own,” he said.
Addressing a press meet at CLP this afternoon, Shabbir Ali said that the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s Telangana tour had exposed the corruption and political pauper hood in the TRS Government.
“KCR is now popular for steamy rhetoric and rampant corruption in administration as exposed in uncountable other scams like – Fake challan scam of Bodhar, Diesel and Second hand transport scam in GHMC, land scandal of Medak district, Bhoodan land scandal and now the Miyapur land scam,” he said.
He said the people have lost confidence and faith in the CID and ACB probes which have were conducted callously with political motive absolving the ruling party of all corrupt acts.
“What happened in the ACB probe on vote-for-note case of Chandrababu Naidu and KCR declaration that AP cm would be brought to book within 3 months?” he quipped.
The LOP said the multi crore land registration scam of Miyapur has exposed clearly the involvement of the officials of CMO with land mafia like Gold stone Prasad who had floated numerous ‘briefcase companies’ to loot the prime government land in connivance with officials of CMO, Dy CM and others.
While the CM has initiated action against some small fries sub registrars all the crucial people in his own peshi like Principal Secretary Shanta Kumari, alleged to be a relative of land mafia don Goldstone Prasad and John Wesley, an OSD in the peshi of Dy CM Mohammood Ali are allegedly allowed to go scot free.
Contending that KCR has been perpetuating dynastic rule as his daughter Kavitha and son KTR who were nowhere during early days of Telangana movement, had suddenly landed from nowhere to occupy prime positions in Government,
KTR has no moral ground to criticise the Congress as he had made no sacrifice like Nehru family in freedom movement and earned the love and affection of people of the country. Unlike the KCR family who usurped power within hours of formation of Telangana even after 27 years of Rajiv Gandhi assassination, the Indira Gandhi family has kept away from power, he said .
He said the CBI should now probe thoroughly into the entire land scam and also the land deals made in name of KCR family members – KTR and Kavitha.
The TRS chief should stop loud and acidic rhetoric and subversive acts on opposition parties and opposition leaders and instead should take action against the looters of public wealth even if they were his family members and relatives. (INN)
