OU VC directs over-staying students to vacate hostels

Hyderabad: Osmania University Vice Chancellor Prof. S. Ramachandram has urged all students who have completed their courses and are over staying in the hostels to vacate the hostels so as to undertake repair work and ensure proper utilization of funds released by the State Government for the Centenary.

The Vice-Chancellor stated that the University infrastructure, especially hostels, has come under a great strain as they are over-crowded. As the University intends to step up renovation work, he urged all those, who are not bonafide students to vacate the hostels immediately.

He stated that this will enable the University to provide better accommodation to the fresh batch of students to be admitted for the 2017-18 session.

Prof. Ramachandram said some hostels are in a dilapidated and irreparable state as they were built several decades back. He said that the university wants to improve the facilities in hostels so that the inmates can pursue their academics with decent living conditions. “This initiative is a part of the reforms undertaken by the University,” he emphasized.
