Talasani reviews arrangements for Bonalu procession

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday reviewed the arrangements for celebration of Bonalu festival in the city.

Addressing the review meeting with top officials at Salarjun Museum Auditorium, Talasani informed that the Bonalu procession would be taken out on 16th and 17th July.

He said the main procession would be taken out from Madannapet Mandi to Puranapul via Shahalibanda, Lal Darwaza and Charminar on July 17. He said more than 50 welcome dais would be erected enroute for the procession on 16th and 17th July.

The minister directed the officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival seasons. He said nearly 4,000 halogen lamps would be installed enroute.

Elaborate security arrangements would also be made by deploying nearly 3,000 personnel including 2 DIGs, 5 SPs, 20 DSPs, 50 Inspectors, 175 Sub-Inspectors and 2,000 constables. As many as 25 Platoons of Rapid Action Force will also be deployed.

Talasani said that the GHMC would be executing various works worth nearly Rs. 6 crore for the Bonalu festival.

The meeting was presided by DCP South V. Satyanarayana and attended by all senior officials. (INN)
