Complete Yellampalli, Mid-Maniar projects by this year end: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has directed the officials to complete Yellampalli and Mid-Maniar projects by December this year at any cost.

Addressing a review meeting with top officials on Sunday, Harish Rao said that both the projects should be ready by New Year 2018. He also reviewed works pertaining to Kaleshwaram Project.

He said that the Kaleshwaram Project would help lakhs of farmers in erstwhile seven districts of Telangana State. He asked the officials to review the progress of works on Packages 6, 7 and 8 at least once in every two days. He said all mechanical and electrical works should be completed by coming November.

Harish Rao also set deadlines for various works and assigned different responsibilities to various officials.

He directed the officials to expedite payment of compensation to farmers who lost their lands due to Medaram reservoir. He asked Irrigation Department Principal Secretary Vikas Raj to clear the file on ‘Crop Holiday’.

The review meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretary S.P. Joshi, Engineer-in-Chief Muralidhar Rao and other senior officials. (INN)
