Congress resolves to strengthen party organisation across Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has decided to strengthen its organisation across Telangana in the next few months in order to win the next elections to be held in 2019.

The Congress leaders discussed various issues in the TPCC’s Extended Executive meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday. The meeting chaired by TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy was attended by AICC Secretary R.C. Khuntia, Leaders of Opposition K. Jana Reddy (Assembly) and Shabbir Ali (Council), ex-PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhary, MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and other leaders.

It was decided during the meeting that the appointment of Division to Booth level committees will be completed by September 30. Coordinators will be appointed for all Districts, Divisions, Mandals and Villages across Telangana State. The Congress party will also set up a Research and Analysis and a cultural wing.

Training programmes will be held for all party workers at district level. Further, Rahul Sandesh Yatra will held in all Assembly segments wherein Telugu translation of speech delivered by AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi at Sangareddy on June 1 would be circulated among people.

The “Chargesheet” on failures of TRS Government during the last three years will also be distributed at village level.

Addressing the meeting, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS Government has turned Telangana into a ‘Police State’ where no permissions are being granted to hold any meeting or protest. He said the atrocities and attacks on Dalits, Girijans, BCs and other weaker sections were on the rise.

However, the government is not even allowing the victims or public representatives to even register their protest. He also alleged that irregularities in implementation of various schemes and projects were at their peak. He said that the Congress party would fight against those atrocities and expose the misdoings of TRS Government.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also condemned the attack on Rahul Gandhi’s car in Gujarat. He said attack on a national leader who is under Z-Plus category was a matter of serious concern. He also condemned the BJP Government of Uttar Pradesh for the death of over 60 children in BRD Hospital of Gorakhpur.

He said these incidents have exposed the negligence of BJP Government and its inability to run the administration. Similarly, he said several innocent Dalits and Tribals were getting killed in accidents being caused by the lorries belonging to sand mafia in Sircilla.

Further, he said local villagers who protested against the road accidents were brutally tortured and implicated in false cases by the police at the behest of TRS Government. (INN)
