SIO kick starts ‘Human Dignity Campaign’ from OU

Telangana chapter of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) is all set to start a 15-day campaign to uphold human dignity. It released campaign poster in Arts College of Osmania University.

Slated to begin from August 16, the ‘Human Dignity Campaign’ aims to bring awareness about human dignity as portrayed in various scriptures.

SIO national leader Khaleeq Ahmed Khan recalled the role of Osmania in different mass movements, and urged the student community to put serious and sincere effort towards upholding the human dignity.

He recalled incidents of hate crimes against Muslims to institutional murder of Rohith Vemula and forced disappearance of JNU student Najeeb Ahmed.

“I request the central government to act immediately on all the hate crimes and lynching cases and work on its much anticipated development agenda,” Khan expressed.

Naresh from DMSA held Hindutva ideology responsible for the problem. He said that an RSS Vice Chancellor at University of Hyderabad has made life difficult for them. He also lamented that those speaking for rights of minorities and Dalits are not talking about Muslims.

Darshan from DBSA proclaimed that social justice for SCs, STs, BCs, and minorities is inevitable. “Society should break itself from the shackles of casteism, fascism and reclaim its human dignity,” he said.
