Investigations into Drugs cases are still on: Sabharwal

Hyderabad: Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise Director Dr. Akun Sabharwal on Wednesday said that the investigations in Drugs cases were still going on.

Addressing a review meeting with the top officials of his department in Warangal Collectorate, Sabharwal informed that so far 11 cases have been registered and notices have been issued to 22 persons in connection with procurement, supply and consumption of drugs.

He said that the chargesheet in these cases would be filed before the court in the month of October.

Sabharwal also informed that almost 90% business of illicit liquor has been curbed in erstwhile Warangal district. He said steps were also being taken to curtail circulation of Ganja and 12 cases have been registered during the last one month.

He said cases have been registered against 690 people for manufacturing, sale and supply of ‘Gudamba’ in Warangal district alone and about 9 lakh litres of ‘Gudamba’ have been seized. (INN)
