Batch of 39 Haj pilgrims leave for Mumbai

Hyderabad: A batch of 39 Haj pilgrims belonging to Telangana State, selected under the Waiting List, left Hyderabad for Mumbai for the Haj journey.

Minorities Welfare Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel and Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor flagged off the Special RTC Volvo Buses at Haj House this afternoon.

Officials of the Haj Committee including AEO Irfan Shareef, Media Consultant Shoukat Ali Khan, PRO M.A. Rafi Quraishi, Kabeer, Naseeruddin, Mohd. Nooruddin and others were present on this occasion.

Prof. Shukoor said that 47 Haj Applicants were selected under Waiting list put of which four applicants cancelled their journey. Out of remaining 41 pilgrims four made their own arrangements to reach Mumbai and two special buses were arranged for Mumbai for the 39 pilgrims.

He said that these pilgrims will leave for Jeddah from Mumbai airport on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm. With this, total number of pilgrims from Telangana has reached to 3,488.

He informed that all the pilgrims who went on pilgrimage from Hyderabad embarkation point are safe in Makkah and busy in offering prayers. (INN)
