Telangana Congress to launch own newspaper, TV channel

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday announced that the party would soon launch its own newspaper and a television news channel.

Addressing the day-long training camp for Telangana Congress workers at Mallika Convention Hall in Shamshabad on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy complained that the party was not getting deserved coverage in the mainstream media.

He said a few media organisations have been working under the direct influence of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his party men. Therefore, he said that the Congress party has decided to launch its own news channel and newspaper soon. He advised the party workers to strengthen their presence in the social media platforms and make effective use of them.

Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that the party would soon launch a bus yatra across the Telangana soon. He said that the party workers should not fear TRS and stay among people to understand and resolve their problems. He said KCR won the 2014 elections by making false promises.

However, he said that the Congress party was all set to win the next elections and would win not less than 90 seats out of 119.

The TPCC chief also listed out various failures of TRS Government and all sections of the society were unhappy with the performance of KCR and his team. He also alleged that KCR and his family members were involved in several irregularities and corruption.

He asked the Congress workers to track down the corruption by TRS leaders and expose them before public using various social media platforms.

He also announced the launch of a unique App called ‘Shakti’ which would directly connect all Congress workers with him and the TPCC leadership.

Former CM of Maharashtra Prithvi Raj Chouhan, AICC Chief Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, AICC Secretary R.C. Khuntia, former Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy, Leaders of Opposition K. Jana Reddy and Shabbir Ali, ex-PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, ex-ministers Sabitha Indira Reddy and Danam Nagender, party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other leaders were also present. (INN)
