Hyderabad: The Department of Hindi, Maulana Azad National Urdu University promotes Hindi language and literature in the non-Hindi speaking areas. The Department’s focus is on interdisciplinary approaches of studies and research in Hindi, Urdu, Dakhini Languages and culture.
According to Dr. G.V. Ratnakar, Head, Department of Hindi, admissions are being offered in UG programmes, MA and part-time PG Diploma programmes. The thrust areas of research in the Department are Feminist Literature, Dalit Literature, Medieval Poetry, Modern Literature, Comparative Literature, Translation, Katha Sahitya, Drama, Adivasi, Muslim Discourse, Folk Literature, Media and Modern Theatre. Department also encouraging students through its curriculum by offering functional Hindi and other Translation related courses along with literature.
The Department guides Students to analyse the changing scenario of literary texts and its relation to the society. Adopting new fields and preparing the Students to face the challenges of contemporary issues.
