AUSF wins all seats in MANUU student elections

All five candidates of Azad United Students Federation (AUSF) emerged victorious in student body election held today at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in Hyderabad Campus.

Research scholar Attaullah Niazi from Department of Commerce has been elected as President of MANUU Student Union with a thumping majority. He’s the sixth president of the union.

Mass communication student Abdullah Asim defeated Mohd Hassam with a strong margin of votes to become Vice President for new term of the student body.

While undergraduate student Aliza Fathima elected unopposed as Joint Secretary, AUSF candidates Nehal Ahmad and Mohd. Faisal were elected Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

MANUU vice chancellor Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz and MANUUTA president Dr. Junaid Zakir congratulated all elected members of the student union.

“I congratulate the team, and hope they work for welfare of students, and address academic issues relevant to students of the university,” Dr Zakir expressed.

Speaking on the occasion, Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) Telangana president Layeeq Ahmed Khan expressed delight on AUSF making a clean sweep.

“SIO played irrefutable role in the formation of the AUSF federation. A few of our members were directly involved in the elections, while many associates helped the federation in some way or the other,” Khan noted.

The university declared holiday tomorrow, and informed that the investiture ceremony for winners would be held on September 15, 2017.
