VHR questions delay in Nayeem case investigation

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday questioned as to when the investigation into the criminal activities and illegal assets of slained gangster Nayeem would be concluded.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, VHR welcome the involvement of Enforcement Directorate in the Nayeem case investigation and asked Telangana Government to extend all required support to the ED team.

However, he said that the State Government needs to answer as to why the investigations into the case were getting prolonged. Stating that names of all politicians, police officials and others involved in the case should have been disclosed at once, he alleged that by selective leakage of names, the TRS Government was trying to shield some suspects.

Similarly, VHR said lot of hype was created around the investigations into drugs case. He alleged that several film personalities were being blackmailed in the name of investigation into the case. He demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao spell out his stand on both the cases.

The Congress leader also expressed wonder over KCR supporting the present zonal system for jobs. He said during Telangana statehood movement, KCR had objected to the zonal system and wanted them changed.

But now, for reasons known only to KCR, he is supporting the system. (INN)
