Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Thursday informed the Telangana Legislative Assembly that all the main works of Mid Maniar Reservoir Project would be completed by December this year while other miscellaneous and allied works are scheduled to be completed by March 2018.
Replying to a question raised by TRS MLA Rasmai Balakishan and other legislators during Question Hour, Harish Rao said adequate funds were allotted in the budget for payments to balance structures, R&R measures to the affected P.D.F’s of submerged villages.
He said works are being carried out on top priority. He said the balance R&R infra works are taken of and they are nearing completion.
After completion of MMR, an ayacut of 2 lakhs Acres would be irrigated under its canals system covering Manakondur, Karimnagar, Choppadandl, Husnabad, Siddipet, Jangaon, Station Ghanpur and Siricilla Constituencies.
In addition to the above, it would be an important balancing reservoir for Kaieshwaram Project MMR and also the source for Mission Bhagiratha Scheme covering 466 habitations in 18 Mandals of Siricilla, Vemuiawada and Choppadandi assembly constituencies. (INN)
