Hyderabad: Speaking at a programme organised by the Raj Bhavan Govt High School, President of India Ram Nath Kovind said that he was very happy to visit the School.
The President said that he always finds it difficult to communicate to children as compared to people at large gathering, as children are sensitive and pure hearted.
He said that on his arrival at Hyderabad, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan told him about the Raj Bhavan School and the efforts made by him to convince the Telangana State govt. to sanction funds to rebuild the school. The Governor also told him that the school which began with 150 students, now has more than 1100 students on its rolls.
Ram Nath Kovind said that he was happy to know that the school is providing quality education and best infrastructure including purified drinking water, e-Literacy and digital class rooms.
He said he is happy to know that the school is also providing free text books, uniform and other facilities which are not available in govt schools in other parts of the country.
The children studying at Raj Bhavan School are privileged to get these facilities. President said these facilities enable them to grow up in life and rise to the top and it all depends on them how they make use of these facilities.
The President said that the children might have read biographies and history of the country’s freedom fighters and great leaders of the country and also about his predecessor, Dr. Abdul Kalam and they also know about Mahatma Gandhi. President said Dr. Abdul Kalam also rose from humble background like them.
Born at Rameshwaram near Ramanathapuram in Tamilnadu, his family was poor and could not afford to send him for higher education. But Dr. Kalam was much interested in higher education. He used to sell newspapers every morning and used to pay his school fees with the money earned. Every day he used to travel by bicycle for 20-40 KMs to attend school, he said.
Rama Nath Kovind said that there is no substitute to hard work and that only through hard work they can rise in life. Children have to set themselves goals and strive hard to achieve them. President also said that children should be satisfied with whatever they have and always think with positivity.
Lack of positivity and satisfaction in life will distract them in life. He said children should aspire to reach the top and there is no shortcut to reach there. The president said that no goal is difficult to reach if they have the will.
The President said that the children should remember they have to pay back to the society, relatives, neighbours whosoever came in contact with them during their life and helped them.
He said that the he was happy to be at this school at the invitation of the Governor and Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari who is also in-charge of school education.
The President advised the children to learn Hindi as much as they can and said that he knew of several leaders who found it difficult to communicate with the people of other States because of lack of knowledge of Hindi.
Ram Nath Kovind said that the teachers should take proper care and teach Hindi to students by taking extra classes necessary, even it was an optional subject.
The President recalled his visit to Arunachal Pradesh, a remotest place in North Eastern States and said that he was surprised to know that the people there used to frequently communicate in Hindi and that he also enquired with the who came to Delhi as to how they manage to communicate with local people.
they said that they learned Hindi language from school days and it is helping them to communicate with people in other states of the country.
He said that the responsibility lies with the teachers to forge the ideals of national integration of the country among the children. He said that the country is in the process of moving ahead as an economic power in the world.
The President said he was happy to meet Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya, who was also his friend, during his first visit to Hyderabad after his election as President of India.
Governor Narasimhan, Dy. Chief Ministers Kadiyam Srihari and Md. Mahamood Ali and BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy also participated in the programme. (INN)
