Dy CM denies BJP’s allegations on closure of schools

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiyam Srihari has refuted the allegations made by BJP leaders wherein they alleged closure of nearly 5,000 schools and drop out of 10 lakh students.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, the Deputy CM said that there was no truth in allegations levelled by BJP leaders Dr. K. Laxman, G. Kishan Reddy and Bandaru Dattatreya wherein they accused the TRS Government of not taking any steps to strengthen the education system.

On the sanction of new institutions from Center, he said several letters have been written to the Central Government for the sanction of Central Schools such as Medical Institution, Kasturbha Gandhi Vidyalaya for Girls, Jawaharlal Schools etc.

but not a single institution was sanctioned by the Center. He said that he would send copies of the correspondence made between the State and Central government on this issue and requested the BJP leaders to build pressure on the Central Government to get those sanctions.

He alleged that the Central Government was partial towards Telangana state compared to what has been sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh.

Kadiam admitted that Telangana was backward in “Digital Education” particularly in rural areas. He said that the government has recently started Digital Classes in the residential schools and other recognised institutions and it would take some time to get good percentage in digital skills.

Kadiam welcomes Motkupalli’s statement on merging T-TDP with TRS

Kadiam has welcomed the statement made by the senior TDP leader Mothkupalli Narasimhulu requesting his party Chief N. Chadrababu Naidu to merge the Telangana TDP unit with TRS. However, he did not reply to a query on whether TRS was an off0-shoot of TDP.

He said, when Late N.T.Rama Rao formed the party and called people to unite for Telugu Pride, everyone joined the TDP. Similarly, he said everyone responded to the call given by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to join movement for separate Telangana and they joined TRS. He said it would be better if Telangana TDP unit is merged with the TRS. (INN)
