KCR Govt committed economic fraud, must quit: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that the TRS Government, led by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, has committed a serious economic offence and therefore, it should resign.

He was addressing a press conference along with AICC Secretary R.C. Khuntia, Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, MLA Revanth Reddy and other leaders here on Sunday before leaving for Ramangundam to launch the second phase of Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), in its latest report, has exposed that KCR Government has fudged budget figures showing loans as revenue. He said this was done not only to mislead the people to show Telangana as richest and revenue surplus State, but also to cheat financial institutions to get more loans.

He said that KCR Government has committed a serious economic crime which is unprecedented in the entire country. He said Congress party was exploring all legal means to take action against the Chief Minister, Finance Minister, Finance Secretary and other concerned officials who manipulated figures to show a deficit budget as revenue surplus budget.

He said KCR Govt has also violated the FRBM ceiling of 3.5% and borrowed loans up to 4.8%. He said this violation was another economic offence which badly hurts the interest of Telangana people and the future generations.

The TPCC chief said that the CAG has also exposed the diversion of funds from SC Sub-Plan for other purposes. He alleged that the TRS Government has been wasting public money and securing huge loans for various projects only to get commission from contractors. He said TRS Government has lost moral grounds to continue in power after CAG exposure.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would expose the criminal acts of TRS Government and the implications of its financial fraud before the people in the second phase of bus yatra which would continue for 10 days from today.

Earlier in the day, Uttam Kumar Reddy had live interactions with Congress party workers on social media platform Facebook. He slammed the TRS Government for “murdering the democracy” by expelling two MLAs and suspending all other members of main opposition Congress for the entire budget session blaming them for an incident that never occurred.

He said Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary did not do his duty and acted in a partisan manner to target Congress MLAs. He reiterated that allegation of attack on Council Chairman Swamy Goud during Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan’s joint address to Telangana Legislature on March 12 was fake.

He said KCR has weaved a fabricated story only to throw out all Congress members from the House so that he could shield his failures from the people. He said the resignation of Advocate General, who had promised to submit the video footage of Assembly before the court, was evidence that TRS Govt lied about the attack.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress MLAs were so serious and prepared about the budget session that they halted the bus yatra. However, they were denied an opportunity by TRS Government to raise people’s issue in the Assembly and Council.

During the one-hour live programme, Uttam Kumar Reddy replied to several phone calls during the programme and asked party cadre to make the bus yatra successful. He also shared the detailed schedule of the second phase of bus yatra.

The TPCC chief got very emotional after receiving a call from one Congress worker who wished him on his marriage anniversary today. While thanking the party worker, he said while he represents Huzurnagar, his wife Padmavathi Reddy is the MLA from Kodad.

He said they have no children and therefore, consider entire Congress party as their family and all party members as their children. He said he had served as the fighter pilot of Indian Air Force (IAF) and risked his life to protect the country on China and Pakistan border. He vowed that he would work with the same commitment and dedication to serve the people of Telangana and the Congress party. (INN)
