KTR inaugurates Mind Space Underpass

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Saturday inaugurated Hyderabad’s Mind Space Underpass which happens to be the second project under the signal free traffic corridors in Greater Hyderabad with an estimated cost of Rs. 25.78 crore.

The Mind Space underpass happens to be the second successful project under the Strategic Road Development Plan.

Deputy CM Mahmood Ali, Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy, MP K. Vishweshwar Reddy, GHMC Mayor Dr. B. Rammohan, MLA A. Gandhi, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and senior officials of various wings have participated in the inauguration session.

As per a survey, around 14,400 vehicles pass this stretch every hour now and the number of vehicles by the year 2035 is expected to increase up to 31,356 every hour here.

Apart from Mindspace Junction, three other multi-level/grade separators are at Biodiversity Junction, Ayyappa Society and Rajiv Gandhi statue junction with all the components costing Rs. 379 crore. Apart from this facility, the underpass at Chintalkunta Checkpost too has been completed and is ready for inauguration.

While addressing the gathering after the inauguration, KTR has requested the Central Government to support for overall development of Hyderabad. He said Telangana Government is requesting the Centre for allocation of 100 acres of defence land for construction of Expressways.

The Telangana Government has prepared all the designs for construction of expressways from JBS to Thumkunta and from Patny to Suchitra junction. HMDA was prepared to take up the works at a cost of Rs.2500 crore.

The Minister also announced that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari would be laying the foundation for skyways at Uppal and Amberpet. (INN)
