DGP warns cops against collection of mamools

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police M. Mahender Reddy has warned the police personnel against collection of mamools.

“A tentative List of Police Personnel ( Not Exhaustive), allegedly found indulging in organized collection of Monthly Mamools etc., Unit Wise has been forwarded just now for information through email .

Some of them have already discontinued their activities, while a few others are still continuing their activities. This list is only indicative but not exhaustive.

The list will also be dynamic as you start attaching the incorrigible to the AR Head Quarters,” the DGP said in a circular issue to all SPs and Commissioners.

The DGP has asked all SsP/CsP to put an end to the menace of organized collection of mamools at all levels by attaching the concerned to AR Hqrs with immediate effect wherever they haven’t discontinued the practice.

He warned that ay further continuation of such practice in any form may lead to drawing of adverse inerence against concerned unit officers/Sub-unit heads.

A total of 391 Telangana police personnel are alleged collecting ‘mamools’ or indulging in monthly extortion. The numbers are: Hyderabad – 11, Suryapet – 40, Bhadradri Kothagudem – 35, Karimnagar – 34, Nizamabad – 29, Sangareddy – 25, Cyberabad – 13, Rachakonda – 24, Mahbubnagar – 13, Wanaparthy – 2, Nagarkurnool – 13, Vikarabad – 27, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri – 5, Nalgonda – 2, Khammam – 17, Mahabubabad – 10, Kamareddy – 16, Medak – 17, Siddipet – 21, Adilabad – 6, Nirmal – 2, Warangal urban and rural – 5, Rajanna Sircilla – 4, Peddapalli – 9, Kumarambheem-Asifabad – 3 and Mancherial – 8.
