TS Govt to spend Rs. 45,000 Crore for Hyderabad development

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has announced that development programmes in the coming three years will be taken up on a large scale with Rs.55,000 Crore funds in Hyderabad as well as other corporations.

Out of this, the Chief Minister said that nearly Rs. 45,000 crore will be spent on Hyderabad alone at the rate of Rs.15,000 per annum. He said that every effort would be put in to make Hyderabad a real global city.

Rest of the Rs.10,000 crore will be spent on other corporations. “The focussing on urban Telangana” programme shall be taken up on a mission mode said the CM.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials concerned to prepare an action plan for taking up of development works with Rs. 55,000 Crore in the coming three years in Hyderabad and other cities.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on development programmes and infrastructure facilities in towns and cities on Saturday in Pragathi Bhavan.

Minister KT Rama Rao, Muncipal Administration Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration T.K. Sreedevi, Hyderabad, Warangal, Khammam, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Ramagundam Mayors, BonthuRam Mohan, Nannapaneni Narender, Papalal, Ravinder Singh, Sujatha and Commissioners are present in the meeting.

“Special focus and attention is required to develop corporations in the state continuously during the next three years. Road ways, parks, tanks, drainage canals etc are to be developed tremendously. There is no dearth of funds. Rs 55,000 Crore will be allocated for this. Out of this Rs 45,000 Crore will be for Hyderabad and the rest Rs 10,000 Crore for other cities. Works are to be carried accordingly.

In accordance with the action plan to be prepared for this all types of construction and development programmes are to be taken up. Development of towns and cities should be planned process.

Illegal layouts are to be viewed toughly. Regularising the illegal layouts are to be done away. It shall be made mandatory to have a provision for every layout for green cover.

Efforts are to be made to keep the tanks clean. The reservoirs of Gandipet, Himayatsagar and Hussainsagar are to be filled with Godavari water.

Care should be taken that the drainage water will not flow into the tanks. Sewerage treatment plants are to be arranged to clean the drainage water. Every town and city should have a developmental plan to suit its requirements,” said the Chief Minister. (INN)
