Harithaharam: GHMC looks for CSR funding from companies

Hyderabad: Urban Biodiversity Wing, GHMC is inviting various Corporate companies to participate in Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH) programme by making them sponsoring Tree Guards for the plantation programme.

Several companies have been motivated for planting and protection of around 75000 plants, under avenue plantation (i.e Road side plantation) during the year 2018. M/s. VST Industries Ltd.,

Hyderabad has come forward to sponsor 40,000 Nos Iron Tree Guards, worth of Rs. 1.3 Crores under TKHH 2018 Programme under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which we appreciate the Nobel gesture of the company and their commitment.

Towards greenery this is the largest contribution made by a company to Haritha Haram under CSR and single largest CSR sponsorship for green projects in Hyderabad.

The company organized a function and gave 40,000 numbers of Tree Guards in presence of Honble Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, H.W.Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Corporator Srinivasa Reddy and also attended the function Harichandana Dasari IAS, A/C, (Supervision of UB Works), GHMC, V.Krishna ACUB,GHMC, V. Damodar Director(UB), and V.Rammohan DD (SCZ). Further the GHMC has felicitated to Devaraj Lahari (MD VST)

GHMC has also additionally received Rs.25 Lakhs for provision of additional Tree guards from various other companies because of this contribution the entire requirement of tree guards for protection of trees for this year Haritha Haram Programme has been met only through CSR contribution, in GHMC limits.

Speaking on the occasion the Mayor of GHMC applauded such initiatives’ by companies through their CSR and asked other Corporators to join GHMC green initiatives like greening medians, maintaining parks, vertical gardens and lake bund plantations.
