Indian Birds Photo Exhibition inaugurated

Hyderabad: Tejdeep Kaur Menon, Director General of Police (Special Protection Force), inaugurated day-long Indian Birds Photo Exhibition at GVK One Mall here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mena said that Bird Watching was listed among the most pleasurable and well liked hobbies in the world.

Tejdeep Kaur Menon is also associated with HBP and guides them on conservation of lakes and forest areas around Hyderabad including Ameenpur lake system, Ananthagiri Reserve Forest and Fox Sagar etc and others.

The one full day Indian Birds Photo Exhibition was held on Sunday morning at Exotica Atrium in GVK One Mall from 10am to 8pm. It was organised on the eve of World Photography on that day.

The exhibition according to Rajeev Khadelwal, an avid bird watcher and bird photo enthusiast, organized by Bird Photography Enthusiasts Group – Hyderabad Birding Pals (HBP) together with Friends of Flora and Fauna (FoFF) Society.

“We have exhibited 50 photographs shot by 50 different photographers, both amateurs and professional photographs. These photographs are shot in Telangana and All Over India. We have 4500 members. We can exhibit more photographs if we get bigger space,” he informed.

Hundreds of bird lovers and photo enthusiasts visited in large numbers. They interacted with HBP volunteers who briefed them about HBP activities, bird lists, birding destinations, growing birding activity in the city and also tell behind-the-scene stories and bird behaviours etc and others.

The Hyderabad Birding Pals (HBP) is a four year old group and has 4500 active members. The photo exhibition is an annual event organized every year informed Rajeev. We get involved in conservation and protection of lakes, cleaning of them, added Rajeev.

According to Rajeev, Bird Watching is fun. Spotting birds is great leisure activity. Clicking birds is a pleasureful activity. It involves trekking which ensures fitness without being conscious about it. Bird watch hobby teaches you to be patient, cool and calm.

You can get closure to nature, you can admire miracles of nature. Bird-watching is a wonderful way to step outdoors, informed Rajeev.

Not only does it give you a chance to experience some of Earth’s greatest flying wonders but also to show compassion for nature, he said.
