Seventy five youth graduated in skills development courses of Hospitality, Retail and ITeS from American India Foundation (AIF), Hyderabad.
The initiative to train youth in skills was a joint effort of AIF and CAP Foundation, and it was supported by French multinational company Capgemini.
Speaking on graduation ceremony of the students, AIF Country Director Nishant Pandey said that their focus is on providing access to skills training for unemployed youth.
“Skills development holds the key to India’s ability to activate vast potential of its population for inclusive growth and to evolve as the hub of the global economy,” Pandey added.
“We are deeply grateful to Capgemini for their support and CAP Foundation, our local NGO implementation partner. Through this LEAP MAST BEST Centre we aim to provide 900 unemployed young people with comprehensive skills training that they need for employment and success.”
Located in Tolichowki area of Hyderabad, the LEAP-MAST-BEST Employability Centre provides skills training for the unemployed youth since February 2016. The first graduated couple of days ago.

The center aims to improve livelihoods of about 900 youth over a period of 3 years, according to AIF, by offering them with skill-based training so as to connect them to dignified jobs.
Dayakar Reddy, Head – Global Delivery Centers & India Operations, Capgemini congratulated students and people behind the initiative.
“Capgemini LEAP project aims to provide training opportunities to 1 lakh youth leading to employment in emerging sectors. Our partnership with AIF has indeed been very engaging and fruitful,” he said.
“With 75 students graduating today, it certainly marks the beginning of our achievements in the employability space and a new chapter in the lives of the students. It would be really encouraging to witness more young people being part of this journey and leading to the desired social transformation through access to sustainable livelihood opportunities.”
