MANUU marks Education Day with ‘Azad Run’

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University, has organized ‘Azad Run’ at the campus today as part of the ongoing Azad Day Celebrations and to mark the National Education Day.

In the Boy’s section Sahir Manzoor Bhat (B.Tech 2nd year) got first position, Mohd. Qasim (B.A. 3rd Year) got second and Mahboob Ali (B.Tech 2nd year) secured third position.

Whereas Rubina Muskan (MA Economics) stood first, Aliza (B.Sc.) got second and Firdousa Rashid secured third position among Girls. Large number of Girl Students participated with enthusiasm under the scorching sun.

Earlier, University Registrar Dr. M A Sikandar blew whistle to mark the start of the Run from the main gate of the campus. Around 500 students participated.

Dr. Mohammad Fariyad, event and NSS Coordinator spoke about the importance of the National Education Day. University is celebrating Azad Day Celebrations on a grand scale since 2010, he said.

Boys were given the route through the main gate via canteen to Health Centre whereas, the girls ran from main gate to health centre via administrative building.

Special T Shirts and Caps were distributed among the participants. Dr. Firoz Alam, Member, Organizing Committee, and others were present.
