Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University today organized a farewell function in honour of outgoing Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shakeel Ahmad, who is returning to the University Grants Commission (UGC) as Joint Secretary, after successfully completing the deputation period of almost 3 years.
Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor while presiding over the farewell held at Saiyid Hamid Central Library Auditorium, showered rich praise upon Prof. Shakeel Ahmad referring to his administrative skills and leadership qualities.
He expressed happiness over the fact that Prof. Ahmad is leaving MANUU with a sense of pride and satisfaction. His presence had been very useful in terms of development and progress of the institution, however, University is relieving him as promised earlier, Dr. Aslam Parvaiz revealed.
Prof. Shakeel Ahmad in his farewell speech, expressed his deep sense of gratitude to the Vice- Chancellor for providing an opportunity to serve MANUU, which according to him has attained a strong position and predicted its bright future.
Dr. M. A. Sikandar, Registrar along with senior faculty members Prof. S. M. Rahmatullah, Prof. P. Fazalur Rahman, Prof. Naseemuddin Farees, Prof. Haseebuddin Quadri, Prof. Sajid Jamal, Dr. M. Vanaja also spoke. Mr. Anis Azmi conducted the proceedings.
